Indications:

  • Acne or acne scars.

  • To stimulate the production of fresh skin cells and collagen.
  • To improve overall self image.

Procedure Description:

  • Aluminum oxide crystals are projected onto the skin in a safe and uniform manner in order to exfoliate the top dead layers of skin. These crystals, along with the dead skin cells, are vacuumed into a filter container and then discarded.
  • There is no sedation needed for this procedure.

Length of Procedure

  • A power peel takes about ten to thirty minutes, depending on the aggressiveness of the peel.

Recovery & Aftercare:

  • Patients may experience a pinkish hue that heals into a healthy glow within hours.
  • Normal activities can be resumed immediately following a peel.

Insurance Guidelines:

  • Power peels are deemed cosmetic in nature; therefore they are not covered by insurance.

Additional Procedures:

  • The Obagi skin health and rejuvenation system and an Obagi Blue Peel used in conjunction with a power peel will enhance, and maintain the overall result.
