The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland and Be Lifestyle Medspa continue to support our local community. We are proud to participate in various charitable programs including donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Steps to the Cure, BreastFest, Friends in Red, Walk Now for Autism, and many other non-profit agencies and associations. We take a great interest in giving back to the communities that we serve.
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

We are proud to support the amazing, effective work of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease affecting approximately 30,000 children and young adults in the United States. The mission of the CF Foundation is ensure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. Due to the hard work of the Foundation, the median age of a CF patient has doubled in the last 25 years, more than 44% of people with CF are 18 years or older, and all people with CF have a better chance for longer life and improved health. However, there is presently no cure.

We are proud to sponsor the 11th annual Baltimore BreastFest, a celebration of life raising & money for the Hoffberger Breast Center at Mercy. We share The Tyanna Foundation’s mission to increase awareness and build support for breast cancer research, services, education, treatment and patient care
Steps to the Cure
The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland was thrilled to support our own Larry and Lori Lickstein in their inaugural, groundbreaking event, Steps to the Cure. On Friday, October 10, The Larry and Lori Lickstein foundation shattered the image of a traditional fundraiser with their progressive, arts driven event benefiting the distinct needs of Maryland breast cancer patients. Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, Fuchsia Foundation, Kids Konnected, and The Red Devils were recognized to honor their missions to address often overlooked needs of breast cancer patients.
Chesapeake Professional Women’s Network (CPWN)
We’re proud to support the CPWN, established in June of 1996 as a response to the growing need for communication among women in the workplace. Annual events are held to raise money for local charities including: Anna’s House, Bridge to Success, New Visions for Women, Open Doors, The Athena Awards.
Living in Pink
The Cosmetic Surgery Center is proud to support Living in Pink – founded by Michele Conley to raise funds for Breast Cancer research. Michele found she had a lot in common with other mothers and businesswomen who were breast cancer survivors. The fight against breast cancer is a journey that can be a surprisingly positive life-changing experience for the patients, their family and friends.
The goal for Living in Pink is to help find a cure so that the next generation of women will not have to endure the emotional and physical pain of breast cancer surgery and treatment.
Junior League of Baltimore
We’re proud to support the Junior League of Baltimore. For 99 years and counting, they have devoted countless volunteer hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars towards building a better Baltimore!
They are an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving our communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Their purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The Junior League of Baltimore, Inc. reaches out to women of all races, religions, and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism.
House Of Ruth – Maryland
The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland is proud to support House Of Ruth. Since November of 1977, a courageous band of women joined forces, united by their vision and determination to stop domestic violence – the emotional, physical and sexual abuse of victims. The House Of Ruth, Maryland’s first crisis shelter program and hotline, gave victims a safe place to go; encouraging many to escape their abusers. They have sheltered over 15,000 women and children.
BreastFest – The Tyanna Foundation
We’re proud to support this great foundation and their annual BreastFest event. The Tyanna Foundation honors a mother’s life, love, and living legacy. Tyanna Barre O’Brien lost her battle with breast cancer in 1990 at the tender age of 48. Her legacy continues today through the work of her five daughters, the founders of BreastFest. It is their commitment to awareness and prevention that inspires and leads the work of the Tyanna Foundation.
Since it’s inception in 1999 in Athens, GA., the Tyanna Foundation has worked tirelessly increasing awareness and generating money for breast cancer research, services, education, treatment and patient care for local breast cancer patients and survivors. They have raised over $1,000,000 to help local organizations in Athens, Georgia; Southern New Jersey; Baltimore, Maryland and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to treat and care for breast cancer patients. All of the funds raised in each city benefit a local breast center or breast health organization.
Suited to Succeed
The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland is proud to support Suited to Succeed – A foundation created to empower Baltimore area women in their efforts to transition from training programs and unemployment to self-sufficiency by providing free professional clothing and workshops.

Friends in Red Baltimore charity Evening of Heart and Art
On October 29th, the Friends in Red gathered to support and celebrate the achievements of the Johns Hopkins Center for Inherited Heart Disease and the HYPE Program. The event was held in the newly expanded Shoffer’s Furniture location in Federal Hill, where guests enjoyed fabulous fare while viewing art, unique gifts and auction items. Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
Once again, the CSCMD Team was in full force at the annual Susan G. Komen Race for The Cure. We’re so proud to support this amazing effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.The Susan G. Komen organization is the world’s largest and most progressive grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists. The Komen Race for the Cure Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
Walk Now for Autism

Baltimore charity Walk Now for Autism – The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland is a proud sponsor of Walk Now for Autism, the nation’s largest grassroots autism walk program. Walk for Autism Now is Autism Speaks’ signature fundraising and awareness event, taking place in communities across the United States, as well as in Canada and the United Kingdom.
Powered by volunteers and families with loved ones on the autism spectrum, this successful grassroots fundraising effort not only generates vital funds for autism research but also raises awareness about the increasing prevalence of autism and the need for increased research funding to combat this complex disorder.
The Alliance for Lupus Research

Baltimore charity Alliance for Lupus Research – The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland is a proud to sponsor The Alliance for Lupus Research (ALR), a national voluntary health organization founded by Woody Johnson (owner of the New York Jets) in 1999 to raise awareness and critical funds for medical research that will lead to the prevention, treatment and ultimately a CURE for LUPUS, a debilitating autoimmune disease.
SPOTLIGHT – Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School Scholarship Fund

Baltimore charity Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School Scholarship Fund – The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland is proud to sponsor SPOTLIGHT, Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School’s annual event in support of the school Scholarship Fund and Student Life Activities. Thursday, June 5, comedian Martin Short is our featured entertainer in this annual gala in the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Sanctuary.
SPOTLIGHT is one of the largest netting fundraising events in the Baltimore area. All proceeds from the event benefit the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition assistance for over 30% of the current student body.
National Gaucher Foundation

The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland is thrilled to be a Bronze Sponsor of the Go for Gaucher! Walk in Baltimore on September 28, 2008. The Go For Goucher! Walk event will be held to raise funds for education and awareness of Gaucher disease. Gaucher disease can affect anyone. Through walks such as this, we are able to reach out to families and individuals who have never heard of it, or may have symptoms and do not know that there are treatments.
The National Gaucher Foundation (NGF) is dedicated to supporting and promoting research towards the cause, treatments and a cure for Gaucher Disease. Our mission has expanded to promote education and awareness, fund financial programs vital to the Gaucher community and to meet the ever-increasing needs of individuals with Gaucher disease and their families.
Tourette Syndrome Assocation

The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland is proud to support the Millstein Family in the January ‘09 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in Orlando, Florida to benefit the National Tourette Association. The National Tourette Syndrome Association’s (TSA’s) mission is to identify the cause of, find the cure for and control the effects of Tourette Syndrome. TSA offers resources and referrals to help people and their families cope with the problems that occur with TS. In addition, TSA raises public awareness and counter media stereotypes about TS. Membership includes individuals, families, relatives, and medical and allied professionals working in the field.
The BRA-VO! Benefit Event – An Uplifting Event Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness

2007 – Local Plastic Surgeon Asked to be the Medical Expert for the Annual Fundraiser to Benefit Breast Cancer Survivors
The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland and Be Lifestyle Medspa continued their generous support of breast cancer awareness and research this fall. For the second consecutive year, the practice continued to be involved as a supporter of the LifeBridge Health ’s BraVo! event.In October of 2007, the fundraiser presented an exhibition of handcrafted artwork using women’s bras as canvases, which were displayed for live and private auctions. Proceeds benefit patients at Northwest Hospital Center and Sinai Hospital who cannot afford the supplemental services often associated with breast cancer, which are not covered by insurance.
Dr. Cohen’s and Dr. Lickstein’s strong commitment to promoting breast cancer awareness was evidenced last year by their support of theevent in purchasing nine of the featured bras. Bettye Leibowitz, from the ArtConnection, was commissioned to design the layout and display of the bras. In addition to sponsoring the event on behalf of The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland and Be Lifestyle Medspa, Dr. Cohen played an integral role in the success of the BraVo event, serving as a medical expert.
2006 – Rudy Miller and the gang from LifeBridge Health held their first BraVo exhibit and auction Oct. 25 at The Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. More than 700 supporters participated with the proceeds supporting breast cancer awareness. Also benefiting from this worthwhile event are the patients at the Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute at Sinai Hospital and the Herman and Walter Samuelson Breast Care Center at Northwest Hospital.
Ninety-eight brassieres were creatively hand-decorated by local designers, celebs and artists and were auctioned through both live and silent venues.
Former Ravens Super Bowl players Kyle Richardson and Mike McCrary and their wives were in attendance, showing their appreciation for the “uplifting” artwork and their dedication to a great cause.
The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland and Be Lifestyle Medspa were contributors to the event and were in attendance at the occasion, purchasing nine of the hand-decorated bras.
The Mildred Mindell Cancer Foundation

The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland and Be Lifestyle Medspa are proud to support the Mildred Mindell Cancer Foundation, which raises funds to fight cancer, as well as for patient aid, research, rehabilitation, and education. In its 45 year history, the Mildred Mindell Cancer Foundation has contributed more than $2.5 million in the Baltimore area towards education, research, rehabilitation, and treatment of cancer.
Chef Cindy Wolf’s Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser

Together the Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland and Be Lifestyle Medspa participated in a charity dinner presented by Chef Cindy Wolf and Tony Foreman to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The dinner was held at Charleston on Sunday, October 8, 2006. A multi-course menu created by Chef Wolf complimented by extraordinary wine pairings selected by Tony Foreman from the Charleston cellar will be served. Tickets for this event are $500 per person. Chef Wolf, Tony Foreman and everyone at Charleston , donate 100% of their time as well as the food, wine and use of the restaurant.
The Baltimore County Sheriff’s Department

The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland is a proud contributor to the Baltimore County Sheriff’s Department, the mission of which is to maintain the integrity and provide service to the Baltimore County Circuit Court, to provide assistance and support to the citizens of Baltimore County, and to cooperate with all law enforcement agencies in their quest to maintain order in our community.
MSTA – Teachers Association

The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland is a contributor to the Maryland State Teachers’ Association, a subsidiary of the National Education Association. MSTA is the voice of Maryland’s public school teachers and education support professionals.

Baltimore charity Yad b’Yad – The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland contributes to the Yad b’Yad Fund, a benefit to help Jewish families in need.
Our very own Shari Cohen was co-chair of the “Mitzvah Miles Walk/Run” on Sunday, April 10th. The event supported Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School’s Yad b’Yad fund, to help families who are dealing with unforeseen crisis and financial hardships. More than 500 participants came together to raise $30,000 for these families in need. Congratulations Shari! We’re so proud of all you do for our community! : )

Baltimore charity Life and Breath Foundation – The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland and Be Lifestyle Medspa are proud to participate in this years Wine and Dine for a Great Cause to benefit The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Sarcoidosis Clinic. The Life and Breath Foundation along with Chef Jerry Pellegrino will host 50 guests in an evening of distinctive food and wine with music by the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, Jose-Luis Novo, Music Director.
