The BRA-VO! Benefit Event - An Uplifting Event Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness

Baltimore charity breast cancer awareness - Bravo

2007 - Local Plastic Surgeon Asked to be the Medical Expert for the Annual Fundraiser to Benefit Breast Cancer Survivors

The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland and Skin Beautiful Medi Spa continued their generous support of breast cancer awareness and research this fall. For the second consecutive year, the practice continued to be involved as a supporter of the LifeBridge Health ’s braVo! event. In October of 2007, the fundraiser presented an exhibition of handcrafted artwork using women’s bras as canvases, which were displayed for live and private auctions. Proceeds benefit patients at Northwest Hospital Center and Sinai Hospital who cannot afford the supplemental services often associated with breast cancer, which are not covered by insurance.

Dr. Cohen’s and Dr. Lickstein's strong commitment to promoting breast cancer awareness was evidenced last year by their support of the event in purchasing nine of the featured bras. Bettye Leibowitz, from the Art Connection, was commissioned to design the layout and display of the bras. In addition to sponsoring the event on behalf of The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland and Skin Beautiful Medi Spa, Dr. Cohen played an integral role in the success of the braVo event, serving as a medical expert.

2006 - Rudy Miller and the gang from LifeBridge Health held their first braVo exhibit and auction Oct. 25 at The Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. More than 700 supporters participated with the proceeds supporting breast cancer awareness. Also benefiting from this worthwhile event are the patients at the Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute at Sinai Hospital and the Herman and Walter Samuelson Breast Care Center at Northwest Hospital.

Ninety-eight brassieres were creatively hand-decorated by local designers, celebs and artists and were auctioned through both live and silent venues.

Former Ravens Super Bowl players Kyle Richardson and Mike McCrary and their wives were in attendance, showing their appreciation for the "uplifting" artwork and their dedication to a great cause.

The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland and Skin Beautiful Medi Spa were contributors to the event and were in attendance at the occasion, purchasing nine of the hand-decorated bras.
